Remake Yellow Rose Flourish

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

I made this card what seems like ages ago but in fact it was only just before Christmas.  I had a message from Faye yesterday saying the display was almost ready for the Aintree Show on the 26th of this month, BUT, Roy had damaged this card, and could I make another one, I’m going to wind him up over this one haha.  Anyway, this card is slightly different, and I have added a little more detail about resources used.

I stamped this rose flourish from the ‘Garden Flourish’ set of stamps (ref: 0701068a), with VersaFine – Onyx Black ink and embossed using detail clear embossing powder, I then re-stamped a couple of times and cut out the butterfly and some layers of the rose and I coloured with ProMarkers – Cool Grey 1, True Blue, Tulip Yellow and Sunflower.  I used a yellow card for the matt and used my inverted corner punch for the white foreground card.  I used silicone glue to build up the rose and to add the butterfly wings, adding Glossy Accents to both.  Once dry I added some pearls to the corners and some Papermania Shimmer Dots to the curly ends of the flourishes.

Mystery Gentleman - Sherlock

updated 17/03/2014:  Dimension Stamps have now changed their name to Nina Crafts.

I was having a look around the website and found this set of stamps, they are currently on sale, and they are a bargain, I think this set was issued in a 2009 as a project club, so some of you may still have them, if not the reference number is 2300016a and it’s called the ‘Mystery Gentleman Set’.  For this DL card I used a white base card and some gold slightly pearlescent card for the matting.  I wanted to use a background stamp for the pattern on the coat and found a dogtooth stamp, this pattern seems to be very in at the moment so thought it would be prefect, the reference number for that stamp is 0604058a.  So on some white card I stamped the dogtooth pattern using VersaFine – Vintage Sepia, then stamped the lower half of the coat with VersaFine – Onyx Black straight over the top of the dogtooth, then I heat embossed with detail clear embossing powder, I then repeated this to do the top half of the coat.  I used my Xcut 2” postage stamp punch, to cut out five of the postage stamps using the white card.  Then using the black ink I stamped the five different images as shown, heat embossing them again with the detail clear embossing powder, then using low tack masking tape, I masked off all around each of the stamps and used a blending tool and Distress Ink – Tumbled Glass to give a light dusting of blue.  I stamped the coat stand onto some white card using the black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, I then used my Woodware corner punch on this piece of white card, before masking off and dusting with the blue ink just like the postage stamps.  I coloured all the pieces in with ProMarkers – Sandstone, Cinnamon, Midnight Blue, Warm Grey 5 and Cool Grey 2, before cutting out the two coat pieces.  I matted the postage stamps as shown and attached them to the card first using silicone glue.  I then added the lower half of the coat with silicone glue overlapping slightly on the postage stamps, then attached the top half of the coat again overlapping the postage stamps.
Just think of all the different patterns you could put on this coat.

Class Card - April 2012

Originally this post was from the Dimension Stamps Project Club.  Now the name has change to Nina Crafts, so I thought putting all the posts together would be better and easier to find things.

This is the card we made in class yesterday, it was really good to catch up with old friends and really nice to meet new ones.
I'm really looking forward to next month J

Mother's Day - Card (igan)

This is the card I made for my mother-in-law for mother’s day, I really like these cards, but I haven’t done it justice, it was a rush job L next time I will try a little harder.
To see how these card (igan!)s are made properly please visit Ruth at A Passion for Cards.
For my version of this card I used some paper from the Papermania Capsule Collection – Lemon Sorbet, lemon pearlescent card with the Spellbinders M-Bossabilities – Hearts folder, an EK Success border punch and then I crimped the borders, Spellbinders – Scalloped Ovals for the brooch, with a handbag charm and pearls from MeiFlower, and to finish I used some buttons from my stash.
If you can’t see the obvious mistake and you’re wondering what’s wrong with my card, have a look at the neck, it’s a bit skew-whiff and it’s my own fault for rushing.  Note to self get organised lol.
