I do like to watch Emmerdale on ITV, if you have a look at the wallpaper in some of the houses they can give you some really good background inspiration. This background was made from the pattern in the kitchen of Debbie Dingle. I used the new Crunchy Leaves Kissing Stamps from Nina Crafts, and I used the Memento Ink Pads in the following colours. The solid leaves were stamped using Morocco, Peanut Brittle, Desert Sand and Lady Bug. For the vein stamp I used the Rich Cocoa. I stamped on a piece of white card that will fit onto a 6x6 card blank, which I will post later to show what I made. I really like making my own backgrounds and getting different effects depending on the colours used, I'm thinking green at the moment lol.

I've been doing quite a lot of sewing recently, but I really do need to get some stamping done, but first an update on my quilt project.
It's growing lol. Picture shows me pressing those seems. I kept getting told off for using the ironing board and leaving little bits of thread all over it, the thing was my daughter kept using it before I'd had chance to remove them. I now use my Fast Press machine, just finger press first, then flatten out on the press, I had a right production line going. Once I've finished the blocks I'll post a photo of them and give a few more details.

Today is my sister's birthday (happy birthday Susan lol) and this is the card I made for her. I used the Tattered Lace - Shutter Card dies for the base card in pink. The background little owl paper is from a pad from Trimcraft called Sweet Owl and has little bits of glitter on it, the strip paper is from some 12x12 bits I have left over from other projects. I used a pink ProMarker to add a little border around each of the cut out pieces before attaching them to the base card, I was going to use an ink pad but thought the tee shape would be a little awkward to get round. I used the Cottage Cutz happy and birthday dies for the sentiment, I used one layer of brown card and a layer of kraft card to make a shadow for the words. The matt is the Spellbinders - Office Supplies die, I was going to used the same die on the front of the card for the owls but changed my mind. The branch the owls are sat on are from the Spellbinder - Cherry Blossoms set of dies, I cut two out of kraft card. The owls are from Tattered Lace, I die cut them out of the brown card and stuck them onto some pale pink card before re-cutting them out by hand. I used the Lea'bilities - Small flowers and Leaves die to cut out the leaves. To finish I used some really small gems for the owl eyes. I kept thinking it needed something else but I backed off and left it lol.

This is one of my blocks so far, needs a good press but you get the idea, it's an off set log cabin I'm doing. I keep changing my mind as to how I'm going to do the quilting, every time I see another design I want to have a go at that, I have far too much to do before I make my final decision lol. Now I'm off to plug the iron in.
